Founded in 1965, CRA Associates, Inc. is one of the oldest continuously operating architecture firms founded in North Carolina. Locally owned and operated in Chapel Hill, NC, our firm is respected statewide for its commercial, athletic, educational, and public projects throughout North Carolina. Today, the firm is led by Andy Cruickshank AIA, LEED AP, and Tedd Clippinger AIA, NCARB, LEED AP.

Our staff members are experienced in their respective fields and are adept at coordinating supporting disciplines - such as structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, acoustics, security, voice/data networks, landscaping and interior design. We successfully integrate the architectural and engineering disciplines to realize one primary goal - designing a facility that meets the your needs, schedule, and budget - while creating architecture that inspires.

 

Since the early 1990s, we have focused on sustainable design, incorporating features such as natural daylighting, rainwater reuse systems, and solar energy into schools and public facilities. These practices were eventually embraced by the design community at large through green building certifications such as LEED, which many of our recent facilities have achieved.
