Opened in August 2018, the Karen Shelton Field Hockey Stadium has enhanced player development, fan experience, and alumni engagement for UNC’s field hockey programs. The facility includes seating for 900 spectators in chairback seats with additional grass seating for a total capacity of 1,000. Features include a large videoboard, European-style team benches, and a three-level press box. An adjacent 10,000-square-foot team building provides home and visitor locker rooms, a team meeting room/theater, coaches’ offices, a sports medicine suite, and spaces for team meals and events.
