The Orange County Courthouse Expansion is located in the heart of historic Hillsborough and was designed to integrate into the surrounding downtown context. The exterior connects to the nearby historic courthouse while opening toward Eno River Park to the south. The program includes new space for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a consolidated Clerk of Superior Court, and two new District Courtrooms. The project incorporates sustainable strategies, including a geothermal mechanical system, high-efficiency lighting, and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
